Desires

The desire to take up Pilates more seriously and perhaps become a Pilates instructor.

The desire to take up English courses and goes into writing.

The desire to study about photography and become an apprentice.

The desire to give up all and travel around, getting odd jobs along the way. Spend a max of 3 mths in each country.

What is possible. All and none.

When you dream. It's just a dream. When you do. It's a risk. When you acomplished. It's a victory.

Make Up Trial For Wedding Photo Shoot

Could almost fool anyone out there? Haha..
Had the privilege of accompanying my gf to her make up trial last evening.

The happy bride-to-be.
Then it was some shopping around and catching up of stuffs-in-late. And of course, waiting for our respective partners to knock off at work.

Chillin' out was settled @ Indochine (Wisma). Finally! Have always wanted to chill out there and listen to the live band. But the last time i went was too early for the band to start working.

The boys very serious in looking at the menu.

The bride-to-be and me. Finally, although we have known each other for years but its been such a long while that we ever took a picture together.

Rubbish Entry

What's the best remedy to uplift one's mood.

I remember Bryan once said before, whenever his journey back to SIN from overseas, he will sure to have a sad book in hand. To remind him of the unfortunate and that how's lucky he had been. And also, to bring himself back to the reality. To the real world. Where pain and suffering are inevitable.

To me. Watching a sad movie. Re-watched 'Black Hawk Down' last evening. Actually, it's been umpteen times i would say. But watching it everytime, evokes different feelings. Maybe, actually i'm just lying to myself.

And then i have this thought.

What is more terrifying?
That a surely yet slowly silent killer on the loose? In case, you can't figure it out. It's otherwise known as AIDS.
A ruthless and merciless war?
A sudden sack in the job?
Or knowing the fact that you only have 3mths left to leave.

It had me thinking for awhile.. or rather, a long while.
Till, i realised. The most terrifying thing in this world is to lose your senses to appreciate.

If you do not know how to hold dearly onto what you have now, there is no future to speak of.
If you do not appreciate what you have now, the mourning you have in the future is all bullshit.

Can we ever learn to embrace all with a smile?

*tuning back to the scenes in BHD, towards the ending of the show, the tanks were returning to their friendly zones, away from the hostile area. Then, there was this old man, carrying with him, looking like a young child, dead. Dead in his arms. He was crossing in midst of the tanks. He does not care whether the tank will hit onto him. He simply does not care. He was crossing the road, oblivious to the tanks. The tanks were almost invisible.
It dawn onto me. The war had claimed the child's life. The old man couldn't care less and it just doesn't matter anymore. The tank could probably claimed his life too.

The results of war. The fight for power. The claim for freedom.

Whenever a next big thing happens, only did we realise and come to know, how small the current problem is.

I think i'm back to my nonsensical theory again.
Lotsa labbish!

But before i end this labbish entry, i would also wana say, take a good look at any sun rise picture. And take another good look at any sun set picture.

Does it look the same?

What we should learn from is, the end that we are often being push to? It's a start of something else. A brand new start.

So what is this. A sun rise? Or a sun set?

Ok, i'm the one who is moody here. *full stop* to my labbish entry! The End!

International Language = Smile

As usual, i can't work on friday. Friday is jinxed for me.
So i was surfing as usual and was reading Tay's blog and came across some of the photos he had taken while in Mexico.
He had taken a picture of a group of youngster. He had commented that when they saw him, it was a moment of 'stunned and shocked', till he flashes out his camera that the initial awkwardness dissipates into the air and they started to pose readily for him to click his camera.
Smile. It is truly an international language.
Just like when i was in Bali a couple of weeks ago. While i was at one of the shopping alley, i had wanted to capture a scene of ladies hawker-ing. And there was this lady who immediately posed for me while i clicked away.

That's the lady. In Short sleeves light blue top. A pity that i didn't capture her great smile. For she did smile for me.
Guess it's time to brush up on my photographing skills.

An Old Friend

Met up with an old friend for kopi after work yesterday.
It was a good feeling, in a way like having to catch up with a 'brother'.
And especially how he 'patted' on my head when i was about to enter the train cabin after exchanging goodbyes.
It's alittle funny how i love to be patted like that. Like a big brother towards a younger sis.
Or how a father dotes on his little precious gal.

Reminds me of how i wish to get in contact with Wenzhong, another old friend. A family friend.

Burn Burn Burn?

Pretty rough day today. And i'm pretty sure this is only the start of hell that i'll be going through.

Till there was a msn nick of a dear friend who instantly planted a laughing mechanism in me. I'm still being prompted to laugh even after 10mins had passed.

What had happened was, a fellow flatmate had infuriated all by 'planting' a 'bomb'. Ok, not that serious, but leaving a bread in a toaster while running off to talk to another friend isn't really the best of idea.

Alarm went off. Smoke everywhere. My dear friend had to endure the coldness at 2am in the morning. It was at 10degress celsius. Minus.

So she had her nick as "i don't mind another alarm going off if its the b#$% that is burning".

It really had my funny bone working.

An Interesting Absurd Remembrance

Have you ever think back, back in good 'ol days.. when we all were still young.

That kind of thoughts. Innocent. Yet sweet. Although in extreme naive but interestingly it has to be part of our growing up.

I was fortunate enough to know, to learn that an old friend of mine, remembers what he said 13 years ago.

Maybe it was a fake. Maybe. But before i come to that point. I am happy to know that he did remember.

Be that it may be, it's always sweet to have those memories.

A mere passing remark, which interestingly got caught in my web of memories all these years.

Purple Violets

Watched "Purple Violets" last night.

It's a light hearted romance comedy about giving a second chance in life.
And it cast one of my favourite actress, Selma Blair.

4 college friends who grew up and later on went on their separate lives but somehow was re-connected again by a chance encounter.

It had me teared at the end of the story.

It was a great story. The background of it, the settings, everything was just so beautiful.
The reconciliation of 'Patti' and "Brian' at Brian's lodge was simply touching.
Such a beautiful place and with the lovers finally found each other and who given chance to both.
The scene spoke a million words.

Stories

I'm sure many of us would love a good story at any time.

But does anyone ever realise that we are also part of the story?

Everyone is a walking storybook.

No one is ever a piece of blank.

The book will only gets thicker and more flavourful as you grow older.

What's your story like?

As sweet as honey like in romance?

As in suspending and intriguing like in a thriller?

As open and honest like a autobiography?

As knowledgable like a encyclopedia and travel books?

Or really just a piece of blank?

What is the summary of your book?

Who are you and what are you?

To a good friend out there, it may sounds naive. It may sounds childish.

But really, who are you. And what are you?

Who do you live for. What do you wish to achieve.

Is your book going to be an inspirational read to the rest of the world, or as forgettable as a yesterday news.

To think in a bright side it's not difficult.

It's only tough when you succumb to the lost that's standing besides hope and that's how you become hopeless.

Pillars of strength are always around if only you don't close your eyes and become blind to them.

There is always another window open when the door shuts on you.

Remember, every new day is really a fresh start. Nobody can sentence you a death sentence.

Go for your goal. It will come definitely. The process may be very tough.

But you know, one day, all will be over.

Wall:E

One of the great bargains from Bali that Botak and I had was the dvds. At less than 2 bucks each, even cheaper than getting from our neighbour country.

Wall: E was one of the purchase and we caught it last night with the kids and it was marvellous and hilarious.

W: Waste
A: Allocation
L: Load
L: Lifter
E: Earth

It was a great movie for the kids as it was funny. But i wonder, with such a good story plot behind it, how much will the kids understand. That they ought to be planet friendly. That they should not be wastful. And that they need to open their eyes to see, hands to feel and legs to walk.

There was this moment when the communications was detached from the humans that allow them to suddenly realise that 'hey, they have a swimming pool, and etc'.
With the technology ever so increasing become prominently in our lives, we have been losing on the 'touch' side of us.

Are we losing more than we are gaining?

Post Bali

It has been more than 24hrs since i came back from Bali Island. And my post symptoms are not getting any better.
I miss Bali. The laidback style. The food. The beaches. The sunset. The style.
And there are still so many places to explore around.

And for a pre honeymoon holiday? It's good but not enough. Definitely not enough.
It's too short a time.
=(

Indonesia-Bali

11th October 2008- Our last day @ Bali Island.

A horse carriage, commonly seen in Bali besides the metered taxis, the local tour guides' vans/mpv and motorcycles.
The motorcycles for rent are as cheap as 50000rp per day!!! That's less than 10bucks for sgd!!!
We had our experience on the horse carriage on the first night! Shiok!

Our itinerary for the last day was the last minute shopping and massage!!!
Along the streets of Legian, botak scouting for the best buys!!!

Lunch was settled at a row of 'Warungs' along the Legian Beach.

Our lunch, consisting of chicken sate (as the locals called it), soto ayam and mie goreng.
Not as deliciously as compared to the food we had through out the days but good enough!
And all of these only costs $5.40 sgd!!!

Our massage and spa place!

Of course, we had ours done indoors! What were you thinking? We are still asians!!! Not the angmohs!!! haahaahaa...

Finally, packed to leave Bali. In very reluctant mood!

Their special smoking area inside the airport.

Indonesia-Bali

10th October 2008- Seafood @ Jimbaran!!! Nice sunset view!!!

Our restaurant- Beach Bali Cafe aka "BBC"

Botak choosing for our dinner!

And the chosen ones!!! Lobster!!! Garupa!!! Mussels!!! (eh.. actually looks more like clams leh)
The King prawn in blue claw is for show only. Heehee...

The Thunderous 1-2 metres high waves!!!

The view from our dining table.

The stretch of sea food joints along the Jimbaran beach. Soaking your feet in the sand, having the sea breeze blowing across your cheeks, viewing the sun setting in a sea of orangy-red spectrum and enjoying the wonderful sea feast!!!

A guy making his offerings.

Somewhere, there will be this cart of bbq corn. Very nice smelling!

And finally! Our food has arrived!

The Buttery prawns!

The Hidden Garupa.

The mussels in clams clothing!

The main 'actors'!!! The Lobster!!!
At only 700grams, they do look like king prawns instead.

But the seafood are extremely delicious!!!

Indonesia-Bali

10th October 2008- @ Nusa Dua!!! Sea sports!!! Here we come!!!

Getting ready to fly!!! The Flying Fish!!!

Off to the sea before we were lifted 2-3 metres above the sea level!

And follow up, the jet ski! Or rather, the Wave runner as they call it now.

Lastly, its the least adventurous of all. The Glass boat which supposedly allow us to view the corals and fishes. But it was low tide. All we saw was rubbish.
While we were very very far out to the sea, amazingly the sea level is still only knee deep.
What we all managed to see was star fishes and schools of urchins or urchins look-alike. Their spikes really long and spikey and so many of them crowded around together.

And the cute boatman, before i knew it, he went down to the sea and took one star fish out for us to play.

Me holding the 'hard' star fish. It was hard de lor. Think it's scared of me. Haahahaha...

Numerous boats waiting to bring people out to snorkel, dive, fly fish, banana boat and etc!

Indonesia-Bali

10th October 2008- Enjoying my A&W @ Centro Shopping Mall (Before setting out for sea sports @ Nusa Dua)

Indonesia-Bali

9th October 2008-Pura Tanah Lot

This is the infamous sea temple-Pura Tanah Lot.
A pity that it was rather cloudy but at least thankfully, no rain!

People wating for the sunset. All the pros around.

Indonesia-Bali

9th October 2008- Lunch @ Murni's Warung

The place that my boss-CY recommended. Great place!
The whole place was over looking a river, trees and a pagoda. Splendid!
The photos did not do any justice to the place because we were all too indulged in the scenery.

Our lunch.

After lunching, it was the anyhow-walking-around time.
Exploring a narrow and long path towards nobody-knows-where.

And... now we know. It leads us to the river where the clothes washing business is held.
The late afternoon was spent with a guide who brought us to a Monkey forest and later on to Pura Tanah Lot.

This monkey has got style! Such a human pose!

The monkeys were really a friendly lot. Very! Where they will climb onto you without any hesitations.

And, boy are they heavy!

This naughty monkey climb onto me within 3 seconds! And from my shoulders moved to my head before jumping off!

Indonesia-Bali

9th October 2008-Morning

Our marvellous pool area.

Our pathetic Kuta beach. End up, we decided to have our morning sun tanning at the resort pool area and laze around.

Indonesia-Bali

8th October 2008-From Changi Airport to Denpasar Airport to Bali Dynasty Resort

Our Mini plane to Bali. Botak was complaining how small the plane was as compared to the red tail beside it. In fact, we were joking about the size of the jetstar while making our way to our designated gate before our smile turn upside down when we saw our very own plane.
Well, it's not that bad. It was JIALAT. The drinks served before taking off were really sucks!
The ventilation wasn't good. Kind of the worst air travel i ever encounter.

Inside, the plane. Botak holding the book that my boss lended me. Erm... a little outdated considering it was 4 years old already? Hahaaa..

Yeah, our room!!!
Our 2nd room to be exact. The service staff at the reception screwed our room when it was stated so clearly that ours is a superior pool view but got us a normal dont-know-where-the-hell view room instead. Well, at least we got our room. And so far so good. The resort was splendid!!!

The night view of our resort.
