Overheard a rather interesting news article this morning.
About how a man who published online about photos of his country's damaged buildings as a result of a natural disaster.

Better exact, its some "educational" buildings that were brought down so badly during the shakening.
There were a few points about it.
It was said the warning was there but ignored.
It was also said that the buildings were inferior because of the involvement of bribery and shady work.

And there were substantial damages. Actually damages beyond recognition and imagination.

And this man.. was jailed without a trial and into the Country's labour camp for a year to have some re-educational program.

Maybe, there was more to meet the eye. Or maybe not.
Simply publishing of photos? Or there were other factors and issues?
Or a case of covering?

"Under the Banner of Heaven" by Jon Krakauer

This is a fantistically 'sick' book which brings you into a world of deceit, beyond imagination of a definition of abnormal and absurdly.

In this very era, this modern and advancing technology world that we lives in, lies another world which is to me, very sick, extremely sick.

Free practise of religion?
Then, tell me, which religion tells you to harm?

Where lies the proper and order?

How grey can the world be?

Extremist in being a polygamist, practising incest and to the extent of fulfilling and obeying rules that actually defies the human rights?

It is really an eye opening book.

I adore this book as much as i hate the contents within.

But, it is a good read.

Please read it.

My New Friend

I have a new friend at work. And here i present, "Mr. Grey Fan" to all.

With him around, i will not feel suffocated.

With him around, i will feel cool in midst of the 'heat' that is surrounding me.

Damn the car users on Singapore roads

In many of the cross traffic junctions in Singapore, it's not uncommon for the pedestrians to have the RIGHT of way to cross the road together with the vehicles travelling straight.

But yet, for those vehicles who have to make a right turn, they are always 'RUSHING OFF TO DIE', and hence, making a right turn when the right green arrow is not even lighted up!!!

And what happens? A pedestrian is being honked at, by the vehicle who is stucked in the middle of the road while the pedestrian having the right to cross the road and suddenly, from the opposite direction, a vehicle who has the RIGHT of way to travel straight is on the way to have a collision with the vehicle who has NO CONCERN for the traffic rules.

I saw this right in front of me.
And i too, had such experience. Having the cars whizzing by without concern for the other road users.
Don't we being the pedestrian have as much right over the roads? What are the traffic lights for?

And really, i do pray that for these people who have no care and concern for other people using the roads, that their loved and closed ones are being caused in death in the same scenario.

If you don't wish that your loved one is being knocked to death or in whatever harm, don't be a reckless, careless, brainless driver too!!!

The motivation for work is rather down lately.
Hence, i embarked myself on a mini shopping spree last evening to make myself work even harder to justify the salary i'm getting and save them up and not anyhow spend!!!

Gotten myself 2 books from Kino and a pair of black jeans from Mango and...finally i found the missing episodes of Initial -Project D which i was collecting. I have to admit that Initial D is rather over but still i like them. And with the missing episodes of 21 & 22 is just enough to make me feel upset.

Anyway... i miss an episode of 'Perfect Cut' on last friday. =(

And the more i watch i more i feel that.. to the extent of beautifying oneself.. to cover the imperfections..the uglier one gets...

It's a sad world.

Beautifying or Ugly-fying

You are fat. So is your boyfriend.

But he is rich. And he sponsors you to a slimming treatment. To the extent of letting you being under the knife to be beautiful.

And then you dump him for a handsome one.

What mockery.

The gal undergoes surgery to become beautiful and slim and pretty because she had make use
of the love of the fat guy had for her.
She had successfully beautify her outer appearance. But the more she touches up on the outside... the worse she had within.

Beauty comes from within. Get it?

I'm Perfectly Imperfect versus I'm Imperfectly Perfect

"There is no ugly ones, only the poor ones"

"There is no fat people, only lazy people"

Either way, i find it so true.

Because only when you have all the $$$ in the world, then you can have the limitless botox... liposuction... nose bridge surgery... sharpening of jaw lines.. making of eyes looking bigger without drawing thick eye lines... etc and etc... and then you look more beautiful with the help of expensive make up products and maintain with 'beyond the sky' skin care products as well.

For the latter, the discipline to fork out time to exercise and to maintain that daily regime, really belongs to the more hardworking people. Lazy people simply "3 minutes heatness".

It's a sad world out there.

When appearance counts. It's no longer a satisfactory criteria for simply groomed to the basics. But to achieve that 110% perfection of appearance, of lust, of eye candy.

Al natural?

Al fake?

I can't imagine a near perfection body with a less than perfection mindset though.

Mirror Reflection

How often do you look into the mirror.
I'm not saying about during morning when you are washing up and brushing your teeth,
when you are drawing your face with the various pencils, crayons and color palattes,
when you are checking out the attire you have chosen to wear for the day.

But truly looking yourself, your own image in the mirror.
And what do you see.
What do you reason out of it.

Because that is life.

When you smile, the reflection smiles back.
You do to others what you wish to receive from them.

When you splash water onto the mirror, it does not splash the same to you.

When someone had agitated you, infuriated you, it does not mean you have to do the same to get back to them. Because it will be never ending.

Inspired

I'm not sure about other people but reading the article about "Zheng Geping" in this week's edition of 8days really had me in awe.
True enough, he is not the only one person of this kind but his determination and discipline is what most of us don't have.

*Crossing my fingers*
Today is 1 July 2008.
Let it be the start of my 'health consicous lifestyle'.
And like they always say, late better than never.

*swallow saliva*
The comfort of the bed against the pilates mat!!!
